What is Beach Vacation Expo?
Beach Vacation Expo is an Exposition sponsored by Beach Guide,
LLC, the company that publishes Beach Guide and Resort Guide of
the Gulf Coast, two publications featuring Resorts and activities
in popular beach areas. The idea of sponsoring an exposition was
a natural for our company. We are in touch with the resorts on
a regular basis. In conversations with various beach resorts, we
found that the interest in being at an expo in the best feeder
markets for beach visitors was extremely high. In talks with frequent
renters, we found that their interest in having such an event in
their city, where they could be in direct contact with the resorts
to ask questions, see photos and internet sites, pick up literature,
book their vacation and even possibly win a vacation was extremely
high, also. Therefore, Beach Vacations Expos are being planned.
Why is only one show being planned for 2005? Why in Birmingham?
With 2005 being our first year to host an expo, we wanted to be
sure we had all details handled to make our first expo a big success.
We have an office in Birmingham and are very familiar with the
city. It is an area supplying many renters for resorts in the Alabama
and Florida Panhandle resort areas. We have rented the nicest convention
facility large enough (HealthSouth Conference Center - 21,000 square
feet) to accommodate over 100 exhibitors. In 2006, we hope to sponsor
several more expos in other Southeastern cities.
Who will the exhibitors be at the Expo.
In August, we began asking resorts who advertise in our publications
if they would be interested in exhibiting. Every one we have talked
to so far has told us they were very interested or that they would
definitely be there. We are inviting cruise lines, casinos, and
resorts from beach areas not in our guides. We are also asking
restaurants, golding facilities, fishing charter boats, shopping
and entertainment businesses. Chambers of Commerce ad Tourist Development
Councils are also being invited to tout their areas at the expo.
